Ultra Star JM is already showing huge potential as a sport horse. As a 2-year-old, he was the champion in the BWP free-jumping competition at Hoogstraten, and as a 3-year-old he was the champion at the 2023 BWP stallion inspection. In his report the judges described him as… “a nicely modelled, sportive stallion who left a strong impression during the riding and jumping under the saddle.” They went on to say: “He jumps with a lot of commitment and shows a lot of scope. He is expected to follow in the footsteps of his sire.”

“Ultra Star JM shows much willingness to work under the saddle and he gives the riders an excellent feeling. He jumps with a very good front leg technique and with a sufficient use of his body. He shows ample power.”

As a 4-year-old, he jumped four clear rounds during the stallion competition and tied for 1st place.
 
 

 
Ultra Star JM’s sire, Ermitage Kalone, has established himself as one of the most formidable show jumpers of his time, if not one of all time. He won the gold medal at the Belgian Championships in 2023 with rider Gilles Thomas and continued to place round after round in international show jumping competitions at the highest level. In 2024, he competed at the Olympic Games in Paris and qualified for the final with a seemingly effortless clear round. He followed this with many more successes including five perfect clear rounds and the team gold medal and individual bronze medal at the 2025 European Championships in A Coruña.

Grandsire, Catoki, and great-grandsire, Kannan, need little introduction as both more than proved themselves as sport horses and continue to have their reputations as sires proven time and again by their descendants.

Ultra Star JM’s mother, Hanky Panky, descends from the phenomenal sire, Calvaro, and further from the ambassador Heartbreaker. Hanky Panky showed an incredible work ethic and quality in jumping at the age of 4. Unfortunately, her sporting career ended prematurely at the age of 5 due to a fracture, and she was later used for breeding. Her oldest offspring, Parenthese (Baloubet), jumped at the 135 level at the age of 7 with Esther Manders. The sister of Ultra Star, born in 2021, Valkyri JM, was crowned BWP Champion among the filly foals.

His grandmother is also the grandmother of Fleuri v/d Koekelberg (Winningmood), who jumped at the 155 level with Dirk Demeersman, as well as of the Cardento son Gorky F, who jumped at the 140 level. Through his third dam, we reach the horse Vagabond (Fantastique), who competed in the Sydney Olympic Games under the Canadian flag.
