This “almost-Thoroughbred” belongs to a very good Holsteiner family. He competed at the highest international level, and his style, his locomotion and his exceptional temperament make him a very interesting stallion to modern breeders.
Herald performed at the highest levels for more than 8 years. Under riders Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, Markus Beerbaum, Eric Lamaze and Pilar Lucrecia Cordon Muro, Herald’s successes included 1st Nations Cup Barcelona, 1st GP Vejer de la Frontera, 1st GP Saint Lo, 3rd Nations Cup Rome, 4th Nations Cup Lummen, 4th GP Mechelen, 5th Nations Cup La Baule, 7th GP Gijon, 7th Nations Cup Madrid, to name a few.
Herald’s sire, the Thoroughbred stallion Heraldik, needs no introduction. A successful show jumper himself, Heraldik held the world number 1 eventing sire position for 7 years. He currently holds position number 2.
Herald’s dam, Alassia also produced Coolman, who jumped in Grand Prix’s and World Cups under Pius Schwizer, as well as the international jumper Merlin. Granddam, Sasskia, brought the famous Falke, who was ridden so successfully by Gerhard Wiltfang. This succesful damline also produced Larimar, Carlot, and Elastic Dream.
