Emerald van ‘t Ruytershof
Finalist at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janiero and holder of many international Grand Prix victories with his rider Harrie Smolders.
Emerald was the reserve champion at the World Championships for young horses as a 6 year old in 2010. He followed that by winning the stallion competitions in Gent, Winter Equestrian Nights, and the CSI Mechelen in 2011.
So far Emerald has racked up numerous international wins and placings in Nations Cups and Grand Prixs. In 2016 alone he won the Nations Cup in Rotterdam and placed second in the World Cup Final as well as being a member of the Dutch team that competed at the Rio Olympics where he was a finalist.
Emerald is by the illustrious stallion Diamant de Semilly’s whose successes as a jumper include being the 2002 French national champion, as well as a team world champion and placing 9th individually at the 2002 WEG in Jerez, Spain. In 2003, he was a member of the silver medal winning French team at the European Championships. Diamant’s sire, Le Tot de Semilly, was one of the best sires in the world as well as a famous international jumper.
Emerald’s dam is Carthina Z. She is also the dam of Diamanthina van de Ruytershof (Diamant de Semilly) who was successful at the highest level with Constant van Paesschen. She is also the mother of the promising young Belgian approved stallion Nixon van ‘t Meulenhof (Denzel van’ t Meulenhof)(semen also available through Iconic Sires). Carthina Z’s sire, Carthago, was a two time Olympian and won the Nations Cups in Aachen, Rotterdam and La Baule, as well as many Grand Prixs.
Emerald already has a number of notable offspring including I’m Special de Muze (Emerald x Nabab de Reve), Igor (Emerald x Nabab de Reve), Jeunesse van ‘t Paradijs (Emerald x Heartbreaker), Ilias Van ‘t Vlasmeer (Emerald x Ludwig Von Bayern) to name only a few. an embryo, Emerald out of Walnut de Muze (s.Nabab de Reve) was sold for 60,000 euros.
