Check In 2
A talented competitor, with an incredible pedigree and offspring proving he’s also a top sire.
Performance
Check In 2 proved himself in the competition arena early on in his career. In 2005 he was the OS Reserve Champion Stallion and finished his 30-day test in Redefin with a final score of 9.08, with an emphasis on jumping. In 2007 he was awarded I-b premium status thanks to the quality of his first foals, and won a Bundeschampionat qualifier with a score of 9.2 in 2008, all the while collecting placings in the International Youngster Tour.
Under Samantha McIntosh he accumulated international winnings and placings up to 5* level, including a seventh place in the Grand Prix of Verden as well as high placings in Oliva/ESP, Spangenberg, Redefin, Verden, Neumünster and Damme, as well as competing at World Cup and World Equestrian Games.
Pedigree
Check In 2’s sire, Cordalmé Z, had an outstanding competition career with Gilbert Böckmann, but also went on to become one of the most successful jumping sires of our time. Among his 13 licensed sons, Couleur Rubin stands out in particular. Under the saddle of Ludger Beerbaum he placed in many international classes and World Cups. Cordalmé Z also sired two Olympic Game participants: Careful in Sydney in 2000 and Casper in Athens in 2004. His progeny have won nearly 700.000 euros in prize money.
Ilonka (sport name: Lila) competed in the 2005 Bundeschampionat Final with Gilbert Böckmann who rode her to many victories in show jumping up to advanced (S*) level.
Damsire, Lord Pezi, is another stallion that needs little introduction. He was a multiple winner in the international show jumping scene under Dirk Schröder, with his life winnings totaling around Euro ¼ million. He was also immensly successful in breeding with more than 20 of his offspring having reached grand prix level, including Lord Spezi who jumped at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Lord Pezi also sired more than 20 licensed sons.
Progeny
Check In’s sons and daughters are proving themselves time and again, not only in the competition arena but the breeding tests as well, where many have gained premium status.
Numerous have achieved success in the Younghorse classes, such as Captain Morgan, who placed in the 2013 Oldenburg Championship, and Confosco who, stationed at state stud Saxony-Anhalt, earned himself a place in the final of the Bundeschampionat for five-year-old show jumpers, whilst in the same year earning many victories in a series of intermediate level tests for young show jumpers. Others have gone on to achieve placings and wins in the advanced classes such as Cicero F who competes at CSIO5* level, and Coralin 6 and C.D. 2 who compete successfully at CSIO4* level.
