Vleut

The prototype of a modern sport-horse. Ex-Gucci ambassador, he offers looks as well as intelligence, reactivity and flexibility.

Performance

Vleut’s illustrious career began with him being crowned Dutch 5 year old Champion. He was a finalist at 6 and 7 years old in the World Championships and international 2* winner with his breeder Maikel van der Vleuten at 8 years old.

In 2011, Vleut was sold to the famous luxury brand Gucci to be ridden Edwina Tops Alexander of Australia, and the partnership won the Equita Masters CSI5* at the 2011 Equita Lyon, France. In 2015, Abdullah al Sharbatly of Saudi Arabia bought Vleut and competed to top finishes on the CSI3* circuit, and wins at international 5* level.

Pedigree

Vleut is a son of the world-famous stallion Quick Star. Quick Star won several World Cup classes and Grand Prix, but his biggest victory remains winning the Grand Prix of Aachen in 1994.

Via his dam lineage Vleut inherited the performance blood of progenitor Cantus who became world-famous as sire of Calvaro V, Come On and many others. The grandmother is the well-known mare Audi’s Jikke. Ridden by Erik van der Vleuten she celebrated victories in many Grand Prix, World Cup classes and Nations’ Cups. In 2004 she was ranked 10th in the list of the best showjumpers in the world. Vleut shares his dam-line with Bonne Chance (Baloubet du Rouet), CSI winner with J Sprunger, as well as Abra Kadabra, CSI winner with A. Zoer.

Under the saddle of Maikel van der Vleuten, Wikke, a full brother of Vleut, also performs at international level.

Progeny

This very handsome international performer’s offspring are only rising 9 in 2017, but already we see international horses like Calona 3 and Charming Force, rising stars like Edinburgh and 7 approved sons.

He transmits the beautiful type of his mother-line and the strong quality of Quick star with a strong top line and back, and plenty of willingness.
