U-Genius has so far deliberately only been lightly competed up to Advanced level but shows a natural talent for higher-level work and is already training grand prix movements. He is being produced by rider Amy Woodhouse under the guidance of Carl Hester. He is a powerful horse with good bone, excellent movement and balance.

He has been approved by the AES studbook with scores of over 90% in freestyle age classes.
 
 

 
U-Genius has the ultimate dressage pedigree! His sire is non-other than Carl Hester’s Utopia. This partnership was part of the 2012 British Olympic Gold medal-winning team, also winning the individual Bronze medal. In the previous year, they won individual Silver as well as team Gold at the 2011 European Championships, and in 2013 they won European Team Bronze.

Utopia’s sire, Metall, competed to small tour level and also produced the breeding stallion Special D and international Grand Prix horses such as Uranium W and Totall Tip Top.

U-Genius’s dam, Weidyfleur II, is the only full sister to the record breaking Valegro. Ridden by Carl Hester’s protégée Charlotte Dujadin, Valegro had an astounding competition career with successes including individual and team gold in the 2012 Olympics; individual gold in the 2016 Olympics; the grand prix and grand prix special gold medals at the 2013 and 2015 European Championships; and individual gold at the World Equestrian Games in 2014. At Olympia 2014, he beat his own world record to achieve the highest-ever recorded grand prix freestyle dressage score: 93.4%.

Valegro is by KWPN “Preferant” stallion Negro, who was named the 2017 KWPN Stallion of the Year. Negro competed at the highest level, having already mastered Prix St. George by the age of 7.

On both sides of U-Genius’s pedigree can be found the Olympic medalist and sire of many grand prix horses, the great Ferro.
