A young stallion that offers everything a modern breeder needs: pedigree, attitude, rideability, size and power.
Great Blue was approved by the KWPN studbook in 2014. During his performance test he was praised for his jumping technique, huge scope and powerful canter. He was awarded 8’s for carriage and balance, canter, rideability and willingness to work.
With Caroline Müller in the saddle Great Blue has already been successful in international showjumping classes and has a promising future ahead.
This bloodtyped stallion is the first approved stallion by the legendary jumping stallion Plot Blue who has been extremely successful during the past years with German rider Marcus Ehning. Together the pair won the Rolex/FEI 2010 World Cup Final and then went on to great success in 2011 and 2012 winning CSI5* shows such as the 2012 Gothenburg CSI5*-W resulting in their being named to the 2012 German Olympic show jumping team. In London, Plot Blue put in two clear rounds in the individual jumping qualifier and round A, and ended up 12th overall.
Plot Blue is out of the valuable Pilot mare, Ilotte, who was the dam of the KWPN-approved stallion and Grand Prix level show jumper Oklund, whilst Plot Blue’s sire, Mr. Blue, competed in international show jumping under Bert Romp, Elise Haas, and Katie Monahan Prudent.
Great Blue’s dam line is equally as impressive. Via KWPN stallions Concorde and Zevenaar the damline goes back to Zaline, a mare by Farn. Also here we see the successful combination of Libero H and Farn, who both have the important mare Dorette in their pedigrees.
Damsire, Libero H, is one of the most influential stallions both in sport and in breeding. With Jos Lansink, Libero H won a very impressive series of World Cup competitions and Grand Prixs, the highlight being the victory in the 1994 World Cup finals at ‘s-Hertogenbosch. From all his offspring competing in the sport over 25% are jumping at international levels. For this, Libero H was awarded the ‘Preferent’ predicate, the highest award a stallion can receive from the KWPN.
