This still relatively young stallion has become a favorite amongst the crowds where ever he goes. His attractive looks and outstanding temperament only add to how exceptional he is. It’s his success with his rider, Gilles Thomas, however, that makes him so remarkable.

Ermitage Kalone is by the exceptional stallion, Catoki, who is the sire to more than 20 approved sons in Germany, including Canoso who received a perfect 10 for jump and Coolio, who was the 2016 Hannoverian Sales Topper at €140,000. 2016 was the “Catoki year” with many top performers such as Eric Navet’s Catypso who won the World cup GP in the USA, Ludger Beerbaum’s new rising star Cool Down, Cordel, Carriere, Contanga… all GP5* winners.
 
Ermitage’s dam is the Kannan daughter, Belleaventure Kalone, who was injured as a young horse and was only used for breeding. Ermitage is her first product. His grandmother Blague du Maury jumped at 1m35 level herself. She is the mother of Vertige Kalone (Berlin) who jumps at 1.45 level and also Prestige Kalone (Potter du Manaou) who jumps 1.60 under Phillippe Rozier. Jasione aa his 3rd mother is also the dam of the stallion Quercus du Maury and grandmother of the well-known Anglo-Arab stallion, Fusain du Defey. This Anglo line is a very well-known and sought-after line for its sport horses as well as the approved stallions that have already emerged from it.
